* To manually put your computer on standby or in hibernation
* Open Power Options in Control Panel.
* Click the Advanced tab, and then click Standby or Hibernate in the When I press the power button on my computer list. This option may not be available if your hardware configuration doesn't support it.
* You can also click Standby or Hibernate in the When I close the lid of my portable computer list (if you are using a portable computer), or in the When I press the sleep button on my computer list (if your computer has a sleep button).
* If you don't see Hibernate, you first need to set up your computer for hibernation
