My Documents Folder Missing from Desktop

In Category: Windows 2000

If the "My Documents" folder is missing from your Windows 2000 Desktop and you want it back, the following may work:

1. Double-click "My Computer".
2. When the "My Computer" folder appears, click the "Tools" menu and select "Options".
3. When the "Folder Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab
4. Check "Show My Documents on the Desktop".
5. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note - if that checkbox was already checked, go through the above steps and uncheck the box and press "OK". Then, go back and recheck the box. This should cause the "My Documents" folder to reappear on your Windows 2000 Desktop.
